Information Circular No 17/2011 – Notice of Election: General Secretary

In accordance with Rule 13.2 (o) of the Constitution an election for General Secretary is now required to take place. 

In order to qualify as a candidate one must be a fully paid up member of PDFORRA and be nominated by resolution of not less than three Districts.  Candidates so nominated will then sit an interview which will select those to be included on the ballot paper.  The relevant dates are as follows: 

1.         Notice seeking nominations will issue on the 2nd May 2011. Nominations to Deputy General Secretary, PDFORRA, John Lucey House, Collins Square, Benburb Street, Dublin 7 closing date 17.00 hrs 1st July 2011. (Nominations should be by registered post) 

2.         Interviews will take place at the National Office in July 2011. 

3.         Ballot papers will be issued on completion of the above outlined process (Subject to there being more than one candidate for the position). 

4.         The ballot will commence on the 1st Aug 2011 and completed ballots must reach the National Returning Officer by 17.00 hrs 29th September 2011. 

5.         Counting of ballots will commence on the 30th September 2011.
