Information Circular No 35/2018: End of Year – Update on Actions

Over the course of the last number of months, PDFORRA have brought to finality a number of claims. Additionally, the Association has initiated actions within various Forums on behalf of our members. The following is a synopsis of actions undertaken:

  • Successfully finalised claim for rations on behalf of nine (9) Apprentices serving in the Air Corps – settled at the WRC prior to hearing.
  • Brought actions for members of the Air Corps related to undertakings – personnel given and revised discharge figures day after proceedings issued.
  • European Social Rights Committee have formally accepted PDFORRA’s complaint under Articles 1 & 26 of the Social Charter.
  • Submitted further claims to the Association’s solicitor for consideration under the Working Time Directive.
  • Have at least three (3) cases pertaining to the Working Time Directive listed for hearing before the High Court on the 12th of March 2019.
  • Engaged the services of Senior Counsel – John Rodgers, regarding outstanding adjudications.
  • Commenced work on the revised C&A Scheme following the report of Mr Gerard Barry in October 2018.
  • Presented the Association’s claim for Loss of Earnings Kilkenny/Limerick/Kilworth before the Arbitration Board – awaiting results.
  • In process of requesting adjudication for Loss of Earnings Limerick – File to be submitted before the 20th of December 2018.
  • Secured Payment of Technician Pay for Army EMT’s engaged in Op Pontus.
  • One Equality Claim remains outstanding
  • One Civil Action EMT’s – Circuit Court remains outstanding.
  • Commenced discussions on the revised XYZ for CCR 448C
  • Finalised discussions on two tier pay structures with DPER – Circular on impact for personnel will be issued in the New Year.
  • In excess of thirty personnel processed through the PMAS Scheme – Over 1,300 members are currently members of the new PMAS Scheme.
